I'm always asked about what sort of music i have in my library and if I can print it out so clients can select songs. The problem is I have thousands of songs and this approach inst the best to take as most every DJ will have a large library.
The best approach is to review the type of event and the age group of your attendees. For example, are the 20? 30? 40? 50? Each decade has made is mark on Pop music and depending on your age group, generally people will gravitate towards the popular music of that time.
For example, 50-60 something love 80s music, Duran Duran, UB40, Depeche Mode to name a few. People in the 30-40s will gravitate more towards music from 90s-00s. An experienced DJ will know what to play and how to read the audience. if you haven't guessed already, Googling for music lists (e.g. top 80s dance) is easy and will help you with building a custom list for you event.
Also, depending on the size of your event it might be as simple as emailing them and asking for their top 3-5 songs to make sure they are downloaded. If you have a very large party you might limit the email to select people such as wedding party and family. I say this because even with I tunes music not all venues have reliable Wifi so downloading can be slow or not possible.
My approach is to work closely with you, help you plan the music for your event. I have several set lists such as Welcome, Dinner, Awards and Dance that contain top hits. I also have mini sets of 80s, 90s, Latin, Disco, Punk and Alternative that help spice things up if your attendees make requests.
